Issues to be addressed:

  • What is the origin and nature of existing networks?
  • What determines the architecture of the networks?
  • What are the conditions of viability of such networks?
  • Are certain architectures better than others in terms of performance?
  • What advances have been made in terms of measuring networks?
  • What is the role of trust in the emergence, functioning and performance of networks?
  • How do networks shape territories and what is their role in intra and inter-regional knowledge flows?
  • Can we build taxonomies of networks on both theoretical and empirical bases?
