2nd Annual Conference of the EPIP Association on Intellectual Property Rights

The EPIP association will hold its 2nd Annual Conference on September 20th and 21st 2007 at Lund University, Sweden, hosted by CIRCLE, Centre for Innovation, Research and Competence in the Learning Economy. Scholars and practitioners interested in the field of intellectual property are encouraged to attend the conference with or without paper presentation.

For paper-presentations participants shall submit extended abstracts for the conference presentations on the following indicative topics:

  • National and European Legal Regimes’ Evolution
  • Litigation and Enforcement
  • The Quality and Value of Patents
  • University Patents in Europe
  • Software, Biotech Patents in Europe
  • Industrial Dynamics, Clusters and IPR
  • The governance of the Patent System in Europe
  • Competition and Patents
  • Patents, Diffusion and R&D
  • Trademarks, and Databases

Time Schedule:

  • Deadline for submission of extended abstracts: April 1st, 2007
  • Notification of abstract acceptance and registration opening: May 1st, 2007
  • Registration deadline: August 20th, 2007

Submission procedure / guidelines

Authors are invited to submit their abstracts which should follow the following guidelines:

  1. Abstracts must be submitted in the conference webpage
  2. The submitted file should be in pdf format.
  3. The title of the paper should appear at the top of the page.
  4. The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) should appear below the title.
  5. The abstract should be of a maximum length of two single-spaced A-4 pages, including figures and references.
  6. Deadline for abstract submission is 1st April 2007.

Successful authors will be notified of acceptance by 1st May 2007.

For authors with accepted papers:

In order for your paper to be included in the program, or in the CD-Rom, at least one of the authors must have registered to the conference by 20th August 2007. (Remember that there is a special registration rate until 20th June 2007).

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the materials are submitted on time according to the due dates below (no extensions will be given) and comply with the submission guidelines. By submitting a contribution, authors acknowledge that the paper is original and not subject to copyright restrictions.

Each participant will only be allowed to present one paper during the conference. Co-authored papers may be presented by any of the participating co-authors.

Conference Fees

Early Bird Conference fee (Until June 20th, 2007): 200 €
Conference fee (June 20th-August 20th, 2007): 250 €
A limited number of travel and accommodation sponsorship is available upon application with abstract submission.
