Applications to ESSID 2007, the European Summer School on Industrial Dynamics, are now open. The school will run from 03/09/07 to 08/09/07 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Since 1998 Essid has provided PhD students in the economics of technical change,technology management, industrial organization, and related fields, with a unique opportunity to discuss intensively their dissertation plans or drafts,for an entire week, with top-ranked scholars, in a great environment.

The 2007 edition will be dedicated to the special topic of the "Economics of Science".

Applications are invited from PhD students and young scholars with papers or dissertation plans on the following topics:

• the economics of public research (university funding, science policy...)
• the labour market for scientists
• scientists' careers, networks, and productivity
• university-industry technology transfer
• the diffusion of scientific knowledge
• the commercialization of academic research
• S&T indicators (publications, patents, citations...)
• any other topic related to economic aspects of scientific enquiry

Students from new EU member and accession countries are most welcome, and encouraged to submit their application (don't fear it is not relevant! let the ESSID scientific committee judge upon it!)
