Applications to ESSID 2008, the European Summer School on Industrial Dynamics, are now open. The school will run from 01/09/08 to 06/09/08 in Monte Sant'Angelo in Puglia.

The 2008 edition will focus on the special topic of Knowledge Appropriability and Exchange, which includes the Economics and Management Intellectual Property Rights, of the Open Source movement, and the analysis of all forms of knowledge diffusion.

APPLICATIONS ARE WELCOME from advanced PhD students in economics and PostDoc researchers in economics, management studies and related fields of the social
sciences, on the following topics:

• The economics of patents, trademarks, and copyright
• The economics of open source
• Academic science and IPRs
• IPR data as indicators
• Knowledge diffusion and absorption
• Impact of TRIPs agreements on developing countries
• Any other topic from the traditional ESSID range (industrial dynamics, market structure and innovation, national & regional systems of innovation...)
