The Chair of Economics and Management of Innovation (CEMI) is led by Prof. Dominique Foray at EPFL and develops teaching and research in the area of economics of innovation, knowledge and technology. The team is currently looking for a

PhD student in the field of Economics of Innovation

 

CEMI particularly encourages applications from people with a strong background in Economics.

The applicant should also be willing to undertake empirical research on topics related to the activities developed by the research unit (intellectual property rights, university-industry relationships, organization of R&D, life science, information technologies, national capacities, clusters, etc).

A specialisation in the following fields will be an advantage:

  • Economics of innovation
  • Industrial organisation
  • Microeconomics
  • Econometrics.


Prerequisites:

  • Applicants should have successfully completed their Master degree in Economics.
  • They should feel comfortable with a statistical data analysis software (e.g. Stata).
  • They should also be strongly motivated and team-oriented.
  • A very good command of English is required; any other language is welcome.
